From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Marc Zyngier Subject: [PATCH 11/85] KVM: arm/arm64: Reduce verbosity of KVM init log Date: Wed, 28 Mar 2018 13:51:40 +0100 Message-ID: <20180328125254.31380-12-marc.zyngier@arm.com> References: <20180328125254.31380-1-marc.zyngier@arm.com> Mime-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Cc: Christoffer Dall , Ard Biesheuvel , Shunyong Yang , Julien Thierry , Andre Przywara , Will Deacon , Shih-Wei Li , Catalin Marinas , Dave Martin To: Paolo Bonzini , =?UTF-8?q?Radim=20Kr=C4=8Dm=C3=A1=C5=99?= , kvmarm@lists.cs.columbia.edu, linux-arm-kernel@lists.infradead.org, kvm@vger.kernel.org Return-path: In-Reply-To: <20180328125254.31380-1-marc.zyngier@arm.com> List-Unsubscribe: , List-Archive: List-Post: List-Help: List-Subscribe: , Errors-To: kvmarm-bounces@lists.cs.columbia.edu Sender: kvmarm-bounces@lists.cs.columbia.edu List-Id: kvm.vger.kernel.org From: Ard Biesheuvel On my GICv3 system, the following is printed to the kernel log at boot: kvm [1]: 8-bit VMID kvm [1]: IDMAP page: d20e35000 kvm [1]: HYP VA range: 800000000000:ffffffffffff kvm [1]: vgic-v2@2c020000 kvm [1]: GIC system register CPU interface enabled kvm [1]: vgic interrupt IRQ1 kvm [1]: virtual timer IRQ4 kvm [1]: Hyp mode initialized successfully The KVM IDMAP is a mapping of a statically allocated kernel structure, and so printing its physical address leaks the physical placement of the kernel when physical KASLR in effect. So change the kvm_info() to kvm_debug() to remove it from the log output. While at it, trim the output a bit more: IRQ numbers can be found in /proc/interrupts, and the HYP VA and vgic-v2 lines are not highly informational either.
