From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Jens Axboe Subject: [PATCH 06/18] io_uring: add fsync support Date: Mon, 28 Jan 2019 14:35:26 -0700 Message-ID: <20190128213538.13486-7-axboe@kernel.dk> References: <20190128213538.13486-1-axboe@kernel.dk> Return-path: In-Reply-To: <20190128213538.13486-1-axboe@kernel.dk> Sender: owner-linux-aio@kvack.org To: linux-aio@kvack.org, linux-block@vger.kernel.org, linux-man@vger.kernel.org, linux-api@vger.kernel.org Cc: hch@lst.de, jmoyer@redhat.com, avi@scylladb.com, Jens Axboe List-Id: linux-man@vger.kernel.org From: Christoph Hellwig Add a new fsync opcode, which either syncs a range if one is passed, or the whole file if the offset and length fields are both cleared to zero. A flag is provided to use fdatasync semantics, that is only force out metadata which is required to retrieve the file data, but not others like metadata.
