I understand that it still exists, but the documentation says it's been
deprecated.
From Documentation/admin-guide/kernel-parameters.txt:

        security=  [SECURITY] Choose a legacy "major" security module to
                        enable at boot. This has been deprecated by the
                        "lsm=" parameter.
