Intel has chosen to release their CSR libraries under a proprietary license. The CSR libraries provide the Access Layer, which is a software interface for accessing the hardware ports. I'd had heard rumors that Intel was going to release this code under GPL, but that was months ago. So, for now IXP only supports the serial interface. Kyle.
