This is a little bit late, so it would be best to keep -rc cycles on it
to a minimum and get the final version pushed out soon. With the
"excitement" of this last release cycle/merge window, this slipped my
mind. My apologies.

It's available at the normal places:

Benjamin,

What more do you need in this release to start submitting to to the
debian archive?

#174 wasn't merged yet, and there is one more minorish patch needed to
rework the systemd targets.

Are you OK with taking those last few things at this point?

Jason

Isn't the release supposed to be without "-rc1?

Thanks

There is nothing to apology, I tried to delay the release as much as possible,
due to last minute attempts to add rdma-core into Debian.

Thanks

It is. This is an rc, the release should follow soon.

I am waiting for the common udev/systemd based module auto loading
support (#174) to be merged to master and the release of v15.

Since #174 is a bigger patch set, I prefer to have it merged before the
release of version 15 (but I can ship it as patches in the packaging if
you want to get v15 out of the door). Shipping following more minorish
patches as patches to the packaging is fine for me.

IMO #174 is ready to be merged to master. I still have problems with
bringing up IPoIB InfiniBand partitions (see other topic), but that can
be resolved afterwards (if that is really caused by rdma-core).

Hi Benjamin,

I was planning on merging 174 before final release. I don't know if
you saw, but in another thread I mentioned that our internal cluster
for RDMA testing has been down for a reorg, I actually wanted to get
this on the cluster and test it before final release as well. So I
hope to have v15 out soon, but there are a couple things gating that
release as far as I'm concerned.

I will update 174 today with the latest comments.

Doug, I think you should test the final product, there will be another
two PRs (one is the patch I sent the list, another is enabling
sd_notify) to largely complete the full design.

We will also need to disable redhat/rdma.service for the testing to be
complete.

I planned on it. I even provisioned some machines in our cluster (it's
still not all the way back up, but it's limping along now at about 75%
capacity) only to find that the latest Fedora 26 and Fedora Rawhide
images totally bail out if your machine has an ipoib interface in it.
Bug filed with the anaconda team. I'll fanagle an install somehow and
have some machines ready to test this ;-)

Ok.

Yeppers.

I think everything is merged now, just remember:

Doug,

Did the RDMA cluster return to operation?

Thanks

Mostly. All of the easy fixes have been done. Now we are down to
debugging/fixing the things that aren't so easy. For instance, if you
have an older ConnectX-2 card in IB/Eth mode, and you are using PFC on
two different no-drop priorities, and have two separate vlans with one
egress priority map on one vlan and another egress priority map on the
other vlan, then the second vlan will refuse to work. This is true for
one of our card models we have in the test lab:

Model:	MHQH29B-XTR
PSID:	MT_0D80120009

Latest firmware available at Mellanox.com (without a support login):
	2_9_1000

That firmware is broken for this test case. It didn't show up prior to
the cluster move as the card was plugged into a different switch
(different brand, entirely different switch OS) and the prior switch
allowed this card to get away with whatever it isn't doing right. I
was able to isolate the problem down to specifically being that when
you add the egress mapping to the second vlan, that second vlan doesn't
work, but if you remove the egress mapping on that second vlan but
otherwise leave the vlan intact, then it starts working (albeit minus
your egress mapping so you won't actually get PFC on that vlan like you
should). Some time ago, I used my Mellanox provided support login to
get the latest unofficial/unreleased OEM firmware kit, so I built a new
firmware for the card out of that unreleased stuff and that solved the
problem.

So, it's progressing, and we are slowly marking machines back as fully
operational, but you know the saying, the first 90% takes 10% of the
time and the last 10% takes 90% of the time, and that's how things are
playing out here. I was working on it as my main focus Monday and
Tuesday, I'm going to refocus on patch processing today while a few
hardware changes are being made, and go from there. My first priority
today is the -rc pull request and getting it ready. After that I want
to get some more -next stuff pulled in.

And I know this particular thread is in reference to the rdma-core
package, I haven't forgotten it, I just haven't had a chance to test it
yet :-/.

Thanks for the update, I asked it in context of rdma-core, because
Yishai stopped submissions of all our user space patches till the
official release and it included my one-liner fix to ibv_xsrq_pinpong :)

As Debian maintainer, I am waiting for the rdma-core release to finally
upload that version to Debian unstable. There is no required
improvement from my side any more.

This is excellent news, so the rdma-core will be part of Ubuntu 17.10 too.

Thank you for doing it.

I just checked https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ArtfulAardvark/ReleaseSchedule
and saw that the feature freeze will be in one week. So I have to
create a rdma-core snapshot now and upload that to Ubuntu.
