To get SLI support, we would need to have a developer with SLI hardware.
I do not think there is a developer even with any two cards, since the bug
https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=16897
is still open. Someone with interest in multicard or SLI support should
join the project and write the code.

The current status is "not implemented" and as you found out, multicard
really does not work at all. SLI is another story after multicard
support.
