Just curious,
so suggested in v5 simple declaration style

Package(2) {
  ADD(VGIA, VMGENID_GUID_OFFSET),
  0
}

wasn't working for you?

potential stack corruption if guid_le and vms->guid types ever diverge
why not just do
  guid_le.data = guid.data

missing:
  object_property_set_description()
or even better use class properties here:

object_class_property_add_str()/object_class_property_set_description()

it needs:

What will happen if CLI would be:
  -device vmgenid -device vmgenid
As I understand, it should be exclusive single instance device,
and there is nothing to prevent second instance of it.
