Subject: [PATCH 13/16] drm/i915: Replace hangcheck by heartbeats
Date: Mon, 21 Oct 2019 09:02:23 +0100	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20191021080226.537-13-chris@chris-wilson.co.uk> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <20191021080226.537-1-chris@chris-wilson.co.uk>

Replace sampling the engine state every so often with a periodic
heartbeat request to measure the health of an engine. This is coupled
with the forced-preemption to allow long running requests to survive so
long as they do not block other users.

The heartbeat interval can be adjusted per-engine using,

	/sys/class/drm/card?/engine/*/heartbeat_interval_ms

v2: Couple in sysfs controls
