-r option is important here as it routes stream to /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0

Could be named as scan, dvbscan, scandvb....

actually seems like ffmpeg could read directly dvr0
ffmpeg -i /dev/dvb/adapter0/dvr0
takes ~20 seconds or so until results are shown
