The reason why upstream version is not working for you is that you are probably running version without DTB that's why it is not initialized properly. It means you should load u-boot-dtb.bin instead. XMD script for example connect arm hw -debugdevice cpunr 1 dow -data u-boot-dtb.bin 0x4000000 rwr pc 0x4000000 con exit Then everything should just run correctly. I have briefly looked at the code and the whole red pitaya code needs to be updated because it is pretty ancient old.
