The imx-gpu-viv commit had some notes on finding the details of the commit. The notes were hard to follow, so I will be updating the patch:

    imx-gpu-viv: Update to version 5.0.11-p8.3

    Update Vivante graphics driver for i.MX Linux BSP L4.1.15-1.0.0_ga release.

Does it make use the environment varable FB_FRAMEBUFFER_0 again?
