Hehe, nice script. Should we put it into version control somewhere?
I'm using gitlab.com:cip-project/cip-kernel/lts-commit-list bin
directory for various tools, so perhaps there?

I can do the 4.19-cip release if that would help...

Hi!

I'm not sure if I'll be able to participate or participate fully in
the meeting, so:

Reviewing 6.1.53, 6.1.54.

Iwamatsu will do the release over the weekend, and I'll follow up with
-rt here.

Best regards,

I'm sorry but I won't be able to make it this week.

Sietze has made some progress with the SQUAD prototyping.
Maybe he'll be able to share something briefly.
There's no other testing news. Please let me know if there are any requests.

Thanks, Chris

I got confused and missed a meeting, sorry about that.

I was reviewing patches for 5.10.178.

I'm sorry, but again I cannot make it this week :(

>

I've actually started work on this!

For the kernel configs I have used 5.10 as a base.
WIP branch: https://gitlab.com/patersonc/cip-kernel-config/-/tree/patersonc/add-more-stable-trees/

For the CI pipelines again I have used 5.10 as a base.
WIP branch: https://gitlab.com/patersonc/linux-cip-pipelines/-/tree/patersonc/add-more-stable-trees/trees

I've kicked off some initial builds just to see what works doesn't work, then I'll adjust from there.

Currently working on adding CI support for 4.14, 5.4, 5.15 and 6.1 LTS stable-rc branches.

Topic: Sources files in cip-kernel-config
The 5.10 directory only contains defconfig files.
Do we no longer use the "sources" files to manage what needs maintaining in the kernel?

Sorry, I got confused and missed the meeting. I notice notes are at

https://ircbot.wl.linuxfoundation.org/meetings/cip/2023/01/cip.2023-01-05-13.02.log.html

so I'll go through them.

I did lot of reviews on 5.10.162 and 163. There is long series with

commit 466f98dac2f4908c8722b5fb23d0a1e481672f2c
Author: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>
Date: Thu Dec 22 14:30:11 2022 -0700

    io_uring: import 5.15-stable io_uring

    No upstream commit exists.

This imports the io_uring codebase from 5.15.85, wholesale. Changes
    from that code base:

    - Drop IOCB_ALLOC_CACHE, we don't have that in 5.10.
    - Drop MKDIRAT/SYMLINKAT/LINKAT. Would require further VFS backports,
and we don't support these in 5.10 to begin with.
    - sock_from_file() old style calling convention.
    - Use compat_get_bitmap() only for CONFIG_COMPAT=y

    Signed-off-by: Jens Axboe <axboe@kernel.dk>
    Signed-off-by: Greg Kroah-Hartman <gregkh@linuxfoundation.org>

...which is 16000 lines of changes. There's no reasonable way to
review that. (And it probably has implications for 4.4 / 4.19).

I guess best way forward is to still take the patches even through we
can't review them, but if anyone is using io_uring (which I'd _not_
recommend at this moment), we might want to do some extra testing, or
get the users to test it.

Best regards,
								Pavel

I'm afraid I won't be able to attend the meeting this week.
I have an ongoing clash at this timeslot since the clocks changed.
Could we explore delaying the meeting an hour in future?

> 1. Add qemu-riscv to cip-kernel-config - patersonc
No updates from me.

I created an MR to add the 4.4-st trees to kernelci:
https://github.com/kernelci/kernelci-core/pull/1544

Question for Pavel - currently there isn't a linux-4.4.y-st-rt branch, should there be?
Please check the comments on the MR.

Kind regards, Chris

All LAVA labs/boards are online again.
I'm not sure what happened last week, but I've been away since today, hence not addressing the issues sooner.

I'll be on the road at that time, so I won't be able to make it today.

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it today.

I was reviewing patches queued for 5.10.114 and .115, and am now
fighting with 4.4.X branch.

It looks like 4.4.x-cip-rebase has patches in wrong order -- see email
"linux-4.4.y-cip-rebase: patches in wrong order?"

I prefer to move permanently an hour early, but it's okay to return to
the current time when the end of DST comes.

My preferences are:

best/1: permanently one hour earlier.

2: one hour earlier at least during DST.

3: current time.

Forgot to follow up on this:

Are there any concerns among our participants to move this by one hour
earlier?

If no, the next logical question would then be:

Stick with one hour earlier, or will this cause conflicts again on the
end of DST in Autumn?

Please raise you voice.

After DST shift, 13 UTC is not really great time for me, either. 12
UTC would be better, 9 or 10 UTC would be even better. I don't propose
shifting today's meeting, but should we talk about shift?

Hi Jan,

I may not be able to attend today for personal reason.
So, I'll email my work this week.

> * Kernel maintenance updates
* I released v4.19.220-cip63 and v4.4.294-cip66
* I reviewed 5.10.85.
* I reviewed patches for Renesas RZ/G2L SoC.
* I am working the systematization of patch reviews. It hasn't worked
completely yet, but I think I can report the completion tomorrow.

Best regards,
  Nobuhiro

I'm not sure if I'll be able to make it today.

From last meeting, I reviewed 5.10.43, .44 and .45. I attempted to
create -rt releases, but it proved to be tricky, and it may be better
to wait for next -rt releases to do the update.

Best regads,

I forgot to mention... I'll be traveling next week. I should still
have email access, but I'll probably not make it on Zoom, and no
promisses about meeting on the IRC.
