Yeah, learned that the hard way. I was doing a git format-patch then 
sending that
but editing it to add the Vn postfix. For the new version I found an 
article
whcih clarified things a bit for me and I used git send-email -v10 -1 
etc.

Many many thanks for everyone for their time and patience. It's been a 
journey.
