From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Rich Felker Date: Thu, 04 Aug 2016 04:30:37 +0000 Subject: [PATCH v5 2/2] spi: add driver for J-Core SPI controller Message-Id: List-Id: References: In-Reply-To: MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit To: linux-spi-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org, devicetree-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org, linux-kernel-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org, linux-sh-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org Cc: Mark Brown , Rob Herring , Mark Rutland The J-Core "spi2" device is a PIO-based SPI master controller. It differs from "bitbang" devices in that that it's clocked in hardware rather than via soft clock modulation over gpio, and performs byte-at-a-time transfers between the cpu and SPI controller. This driver will be extended to support future versions of the J-Core SPI controller with DMA transfers when they become available.
