Fair enough. I surely meant it in the sense of the kernels POV, not from the performance perspective. I'll amend the changelog in case we come to the conclusion that this whole thing is worthwhile. I personaly like it for a completely non speculative reason. I often enough cursed when I had to fiddle in the BIOS settings to test SMT vs. non SMT stuff. Admittedly virtual machines have made that way simpler, but it's still easier to just tweak the kernel command line :) Thanks, tglx
