None of ctrl-alt-del, ctrl-alt-fX works. The computer can only be rebooted by pressing the power button. I am using the Nouveau driver from git, libdrm from git and the nouveau kernel module from version 2.6.39.3 (cannot try 3.0 yet, thus no out-of-tree git from freedesktop either). The card is an NVidia GeForce GT 330M. It should have Optmimus but with the hardware mux (BIOS configured to "discrete" instead of "switchable"). The "nv" driver works fine. The binary NVidia driver also ends up with an unresponsive black screen. I have checked most (perhaps all) things on the Nouveau Troubleshooting page without success. I have tried with and without the "vga=775" option. I am going to quote the output of lspci below and attach a few log files (output of dmesg, Xorg.log and lsmod). The log files collected without the vga=775 kernel option are divide the dmesg output before and after starting X. The other two log files are obtained without passing any "vga=" option at boot and should be similar. 01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: nVidia Corporation GT216 [GeForce GT 330M] (rev a2) (prog-if 00 [VGA controller]) Subsystem: Acer Incorporated [ALI] Device 035a Control: I/O+ Mem+ BusMaster+ SpecCycle- MemWINV- VGASnoop- ParErr- Stepping- SERR- FastB2B- DisINTx- Status: Cap+ 66MHz- UDF- FastB2B- ParErr- DEVSEL=fast >TAbort- SERR- Capabilities: [100 v1] Virtual Channel Caps: LPEVC=0 RefClk=100ns PATEntryBits=1 Arb: Fixed- WRR32- WRR64- WRR128- Ctrl: ArbSelect=Fixed Status: InProgress- VC0: Caps: PATOffset=00 MaxTimeSlots=1 RejSnoopTrans- Arb: Fixed- WRR32- WRR64- WRR128- TWRR128- WRR256- Ctrl: Enable+ ID=0 ArbSelect=Fixed TC/VC=01 Status: NegoPending- InProgress- Capabilities: [128 v1] Power Budgeting Capabilities: [600 v1] Vendor Specific Information: ID=0001 Rev=1 Len=024 Kernel modules: nouveau, nvidiafb -- Configure bugmail: https://bugs.freedesktop.org/userprefs.cgi?tab=email ------- You are receiving this mail because: ------- You are the assignee for the bug.
