I don't think the is the same as your issue Ian.  A great deal of HDMI TVs and
monitors will overscan regardless, and the only way to fix that is either the
magic bits in the AVI InfoFrame (if you're lucky enough to have a monitor that
cares), or to use the overscan compensation options.
