You left out an important detail:

> int my_printf(const char *fmt, struct { some ints, some char's, whatever } arg)

int my_printf(const char *fmt, struct { some ints, some char's, whatever } arg[1])

which the same as

int my_printf(const char *fmt, struct { some ints, some char's, whatever } *arg)
