OK, so it *is* in the body of the email message. If I understand correctly, the important is that: * "git send-email" should accept sending a message for a commit containing a Cc: [number] line. * The message should be sent to But I still don't get why using the (4.8+) notation wouldn't work. It would still end up in the Cc: line in the body of the message, and the message would still be sent to the same address.
