Subject: I discovered that UniFi USW-24P-250 POE network switch is based
on Linux kernel 3.6.5

Good day from Singapore,

I discovered that UniFi USW-24P-250 POE network switch is based on Linux
kernel 3.6.5 and other open source software. I had an opportunity to
play with this UniFi USW-24P-250 POE network switch recently. The
console output and other information below shows that UniFi USW-24P-250
POE network switch is based on Linux kernel 3.6.5.

Please DO NOT try to configure UniFi network switches using the CLI. It
WILL NOT work. If you configure UniFi network switches using the CLI,
the IP address that you have manually configured will always go back to
192.168.1.20, which is the default IP address.

The only way to configure UniFi network switches is to connect them to a
network environment with DHCP server. You can then install and use UniFi
Controller to adopt the UniFi network switch. Configuring UniFi network
switches using UniFi Controller (GUI) is extremely easy and straight
forward. There is no need to use the CLI at all.
