Subject: CVE-2022-48633: drm/gma500: Fix WARN_ON(lock->magic != lock) error
Date: Sun, 28 Apr 2024 15:04:54 +0200	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <2024042854-CVE-2022-48633-f726@gregkh> (raw)

Description
===========

In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:

drm/gma500: Fix WARN_ON(lock->magic != lock) error

psb_gem_unpin() calls dma_resv_lock() but the underlying ww_mutex
gets destroyed by drm_gem_object_release() move the
drm_gem_object_release() call in psb_gem_free_object() to after
the unpin to fix the below warning:

Mitigation
==========

The Linux kernel CVE team recommends that you update to the latest
stable kernel version for this, and many other bugfixes. Individual
changes are never tested alone, but rather are part of a larger kernel
release. Cherry-picking individual commits is not recommended or
supported by the Linux kernel community at all. If however, updating to
the latest release is impossible, the individual changes to resolve this
issue can be found at these commits:
