From mboxrd@z Thu Jan 1 00:00:00 1970 From: Petr Kulhavy Subject: [PATCH 3/5 v10] usb: musb: core: added missing const qualifier to musb_hdrc_platform_data::config Date: Fri, 11 Mar 2016 09:29:47 +0100 Message-ID: <1457684989-13318-3-git-send-email-petr@barix.com> References: <1457684989-13318-1-git-send-email-petr@barix.com> Return-path: In-Reply-To: <1457684989-13318-1-git-send-email-petr-Qh/3xLP0EvwAvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org> Sender: linux-usb-owner-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org To: devicetree-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org, b-liu-l0cyMroinI0@public.gmane.org Cc: robh+dt-DgEjT+Ai2ygdnm+yROfE0A@public.gmane.org, pawel.moll-5wv7dgnIgG8@public.gmane.org, mark.rutland-5wv7dgnIgG8@public.gmane.org, ijc+devicetree-KcIKpvwj1kUDXYZnReoRVg@public.gmane.org, galak-sgV2jX0FEOL9JmXXK+q4OQ@public.gmane.org, petr-Qh/3xLP0EvwAvxtiuMwx3w@public.gmane.org, linux-usb-u79uwXL29TY76Z2rM5mHXA@public.gmane.org, balbi-DgEjT+Ai2ygdnm+yROfE0A@public.gmane.org, sergei.shtylyov-M4DtvfQ/ZS1MRgGoP+s0PdBPR1lH4CV8@public.gmane.org List-Id: devicetree@vger.kernel.org The musb_hdrc_platform_data::config was defined as a non-const pointer. However some drivers (e.g. the ux500) set up this pointer to point to a static structure, which is potentially dangerous. Since the musb core uses the pointer in a read-only manner the const qualifier was added to protect the content of the config.
