Would a devm_platform_device_register_data make sense? Drops a fair bit of boilerplate in here. If its not a common enough pattern, could use the devm_add_action_or_reset route to do the same thing. I would suggest this as a possible future element, but you have some other issues around that area that this would cleanup nicely for you. See inline.
