For example, kmem_alloc() by RESCUER workqueue threads got stuck doing GFP_NOFS allocation. Due to __GFP_NOWARN, warn_alloc() cannot warn allocation stalls. Due to order <= PAGE_ALLOC_COSTLY_ORDER, the "%s(%u) possible memory allocation deadlock size %u in %s (mode:0x%x)" message cannot be printed because __alloc_pages_nodemask() does not return. And due to GFP_NOFS without __GFP_HIGH nor __GFP_NOFAIL, memory cannot be allocated to RESCUER thread which are trying to allocate memory for reclaiming memory; the result is silent lockup.
