The problem is that @pdev is the rpu'a DT node rather than the r5_X's DT node. I suggest to have a look at k3_r5_probe()[1], especially at how devm_of_platform_populate() is called on @dev and from there how the platform device for each r5 is retreived using the same for_each_available_child_of_node() loop you also have. What you did with the list as private data of the rpu's platform device is good. But from there I would like the rest of your discovery process to follow what has been set forth by TI's R5. Initialisation of the M4 remote processors all follow the same pattern and I would like the same to be the case for the R5. Let me know if you have questions before starting a new revision.
