Another prolem (which may be related) is that XFree's sis-drivers is also not working (but only because the sis301's LCD port is not enabled correct ... - Without a special hack of me and the VESA framebuffer I get simply a black screen (NO crash ...). Only the latest revisions of the SIS chip are affected by this problems. Older ones seem to work (at least in X).
