I thought that latest releases of nvidia module are built from
sources...
anyway I'll try to use the x11 nv driver (without nvidia module) and

When you install the closed-source nVIDIA video drivers you are in fact
compiling code, but this is limited to some sort of "glue" to bind
the kernel and the binary nVIDIA module together.
