Changing AC state causes Synaptics Touchpad driver to lose sync.

This is on 2.6.0test11, on my otherwise-trusty Averatec(tm) 3150H notebook.  I 
can start the computer up either on the battery or on AC and everything is
fine, but as soon as I change (either unplugging the AC adapter if I started
with it, or plugging it in if I started on the battery) I lose the touchpad.
syslog shows a plethora of "Synaptics Touchpad driver lost sync at bit 1" (and
"at bit 4").  It happens whether I've started X11 or not.

For some odd reason, I seem to have to power off completely to correct the
problem.

I've tried compiling ACPI without ac and battery support, I've tried with
and without 'pre-emptible kernel', but none of those seem to make a 
difference.  I did notice earlier messages in the archives blaming a similar
problem on the older APM system, but I have that disabled in config.

If responses could be cc'd to me (mailbox already heavily loaded, so
I wasn't going to join the kernel list, too, if I didn't need to), as
well as any testing I can do to help pin this one down would be
appreciated.

Other than this one irksome bug (well, and the ALSA
driver for this system's audio card, but since the OSS driver works
for now it's not a problem) 2.6.0-test11 seems to be working great!

Hi!

I have similar problem on arima notebook -- mouse sometimes looses
sync while reading temperature. Fortunately it resyncs for me...
