Nevermind, the trick is to add a port it seems: -device virtio-serial -chardev socket,path=/tmp/c1,server,nowait,id=foo -device virtserialport,chardev=foo,name=org.fedoraproject.port.0 works fine without -device virtserialport. -- MST
