I think this part better be:

   CONTEXT X		   CONTEXT Y
   ---------		   ---------
   			   mutex_lock A
   mutex_lock A
   			   wait_for_complete B /* DEADLOCK */
   mutex_unlock A

, right? Because Y triggers DEADLOCK before X could run mutex_unlock().
