(I forgot to add Signed-off. Will resend. Sorry about that.)

This patch series supports A64FX PMU event v1.2.

The first patch adds L1 data cache refill prefetch, L2 data cache refill prefetch,
and DCZVA instruction events.

The second patch fixes the lexical definition of event name so that
perf can recognize event name that start with a number.

The third patch adds PMU events for A64FX.

Fix the lexical definition of event name so that the numbers are recognizable.

A64FX defines an event name that starts with a number.

I think that we need to the same here as the IMPDEF recommended events -
add a common JSON to reduce the duplication.

I had done work on this for current CPUs, but never got it finished. Let
me check the status.

Cheers,
John

Ps, arm have put JSONs here for their cores:

https://github.com/ARM-software/data/tree/master/pmu

But unfortunately the schema does not suit perf.

I raised an issue, but no response.

I'm just wondering if you hand copied the JSON data.

For events which are reserved (see k3-1), like 0x9f, prob should not be
putting in this file, but rather the CPU JSON.

Cheers,
John

I missed the reservation area for ARM recommended events.
I will fix the patch as you pointed out.

I just sent this:
https://lore.kernel.org/lkml/1611575600-2440-1-git-send-email-john.garry@huawei.com/T/#u

And now I have noticed that I did not cc arm64 reviewers :(

Anyway, it should be ok to base on that series.

And please add guys under "PERFORMANCE EVENTS SUBSYSTEM" for sending
patches for perf, and not just the arm64 guys.

Thanks,
John
