Subject: 2.6.0-test1 issues, ACPI, USB, ALSA
Date: Wed, 16 Jul 2003 18:23:12 -0400 [thread overview]
Message-ID: <3F15D050.6090207@blue-labs.org> (raw)
Here are the problems I've found thusfar:
1. must boot with either acpi=off or pci=noacpi. If this isn't done,
half of things don't work right (eth0, USB mouse, etc) and when trying
to use such devices, I get a message to the effect of IRQ NN disabled
2. randomly some IRQs stop being delivered or something. I notice it
first in X when my USB mouse stops working. The PS/2 glidepoint mouse
keeps working fine. Most everything else on this IRQ (ohci-hcd, eth0)
all stop working -- sym53c8xx keeps working.
3. only 1/2 of my USB ports work. I have 6 ports, ports 1, 2, and 5
don't work.
4. if I try to use my i8x0 onboard sound (ALSA), I immediately lose
mouse/eth0/etc as above and I get a flurry of messages as will be described.
Now for the texts.

I'll put the lspci and dmesg and .config up on the web
