I went back and looked it up, and you did indeed manage to type:
U+0456 CYRILLIC SMALL LETTER BYELORUSSIAN-UKRAINIAN I character (і)
It's on the list:

Maybe someone could do something with that file to prevent the
confusables from slipping in when unwanted?
