Subject: [PATCH] liquidio: replace deprecated strncpy/strcpy with strscpy
Date: Thu, 05 Oct 2023 21:33:19 +0000	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <20231005-strncpy-drivers-net-ethernet-cavium-liquidio-lio_ethtool-c-v1-1-ab565ab4d197@google.com> (raw)

`strncpy` is deprecated for use on NUL-terminated destination strings
[1] and as such we should prefer more robust and less ambiguous string
interfaces.

NUL-padding is not required as drvinfo is memset to 0:
|	memset(drvinfo, 0, sizeof(struct ethtool_drvinfo));

A suitable replacement is `strscpy` [2] due to the fact that it
guarantees NUL-termination on the destination buffer without
unnecessarily NUL-padding.
