Subject: [PATCH v2 5/6] i2c: rcar: add IRQ check
Date: Sat, 10 Apr 2021 23:23:33 +0300	[thread overview]
Message-ID: <a4d29315-d7fc-88f2-ce6c-08e88874a5b7@omprussia.ru> (raw)
In-Reply-To: <7995bba1-61dd-baa3-51ea-0fb2fccc19a0@omprussia.ru>

The driver neglects to check the result of platform_get_irq()'s call and
blithely passes the negative error codes to devm_request_irq() (which
takes *unsigned* IRQ #), causing it to fail with -EINVAL, overriding
an original error code. Stop calling devm_request_irq() with the
invalid IRQ #s.

Fixes: 6ccbe607132b ("i2c: add Renesas R-Car I2C driver")

Changes in version 2:
- avoided a string of assignements;
- added Geert's tag.
