Suspiciously, the caller still does:

                if (packet->cp_partial)
                        pb += packet->rmsg_pgcnt;

                ret = netvsc_dma_map(ndev_ctx->device_ctx, packet, pb);

Shouldn't that if () pb +=... also go away?
