BTW, I will drop the 1st and the 2nd (this) patch from next push.

The 1st patch is completely independent from the delayed subtree, so is
the 2nd patch.

For the deadlock or possible performance regression caused by my
original fix, it's unrelated to delayed subtree scan anyway.
