This helper is useful for both THPs and for supporting block size larger
than page size.  Convert all users that I could find (we have a few
different ways of writing this idiom, and I may have missed some).

This helper is useful for both THPs and for supporting block size larger
than page size.  Convert all users that I could find (we have a few
different ways of writing this idiom, and I may have missed some).
