How it can become lib64? Name is really hardcoded

In Gentoo we have a crazy default layout (only true for amd64 and
ppc64 and it is going to be fixed [1]) with the following symlinks:
/lib -> lib64
/usr/lib -> lib64

Obviously cpio cannot follow symlinks inside archives.
