It appears that gcc 5.x is going to cause a few issues for meta-fsl-arm
and meta-fsl-ppc. Many of the remaining issues are specific to these
layers.
http://errors.yoctoproject.org/Errors/Search/?items=10&query=00957782f4dec7f39b79211e6a2a2bea6f14d2a0&limit=50
is a complete list for one of the last builds. The gcc, elfutils,
coreutils and iptables issues are resolved.
What worries me specifically are:
p1022ds:
openssl failures (caused by patches in meta-fsl-ppc)
u-boot-qoriq
imx28evk:
u-boot-fslc-v2015.07+gitAUTOINC+31851bd6bd-r0
imx53qsb:
linux-imx
imx6qsabresd:
xf86-video-imxfb-vivante
I'm not going to send out any more mails about these, its really up the
the people involved with these layers to track this and come up with a
plan to sort this out. If we switch and things are failing with no sign
of them being fixed we'll have to take action of some kind.
Cheers,
Richard

Hi Richard,
We will look into the build issues ASAP.

I have a patch for this one being cooked in upstream. Once it is
finished will backport it.

I have reproduced this error. Prabhu, the detailed log is here:
http://errors.yoctoproject.org/Errors/Details/13870/
Can you take a look on this? We need to fix this as OE-Core will be
changing to GCC 5.2 very soon.

I merged today the removal of i.MX5 using the linux-imx kernel. If you
commit to support the kernel than we can revisit it but otherwise
using mainline is the best route.

I'm looking through all the logs and information on the errors.yp.o site
and I can't seem to figure out what configuration was used for this
build. Specifically, looking through
https://autobuilder.yoctoproject.org/main/builders/nightly-fsl-arm-lsb/builds/415
I see "CreateAutoConf" tasks, but nowhere in those configurations is the
compiler being set to gcc-5.2%. If I clone meta-fsl-arm and poky, switch
both of them to master-next, and perform a simple build, the
cross-compiler being built is gcc-4.9.3.
Looking through the errors.yp.o website, how do I extract the full
configuration that was used for any given build so that I can duplicate
the build failure?
Best regards,
Trevor

We fixed the master errors (removing the linux-imx for mx5) so you
need to revert it to properly reproduce it.
To make the OE-Core to use the new toolchain set, in conf/local.conf:
GCCVERSION = "5.2%"
and it should do the right thing.

If you lookup the git revision of master-next that was built, you'd find
there was a patch included which tweaked the gcc version. The patch
included was:
http://git.yoctoproject.org/cgit.cgi/poky-contrib/commit/?h=rpurdie/t222&id=e3a291d8dd3afd142e0723526055c1c1cc44d8c3
Cheers,
