Bjorn suggested that it would be helpful if I announced
when things have gone into my trees. Let me know if I should
change the format, or add more information to these announce
e-mails.

I find it very useful to use the RSS feeds for IA64 things.

For example you can follow the GIT comings and goings with

 * http://www.kernel.org/git/?p=linux/kernel/git/aegl/linux-2.6.git;a=rss

People might also like to subscribe to the automated kernel compile feed

 * http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/kerncomp/rss.php

I'm also testing another one to run LTP tests on the latest kernel
(http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/~ianw/ltp/)

 * http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/~ianw/ltp/rss.php

Finally our IA64 WiKi feed

 * http://www.gelato.unsw.edu.au/IA64wiki/RecentChanges?action=rss_rc

I use bloglines.com, but you can use stand alone programs like liferea
or straw, etc.

This is helpful, thanks. It occurred to me last night (before
I saw your "patches added" mail) that the low-tech solution of
a response to the email containing the original patch has the
advantage of meaningful subject lines and being close in the
email archives. And it gives a nice place to comment on tweaks
that you might have to make to resolve conflicts.

But I know that's a bit more work and might not fit your
workflow of moving patches between trees, so it's just a
possibility.

Hi Ian,

I'm trying to use Firefox's Sage extension to track the RSS feeds.
Seems to work fine, but for the automated build-feed, the entries look
like this:

   2.6.14-rc2 : 2005-09-26 : 17:00
   2.6.14-rc2:  2005-09-25 : 17:00

which isn't very helpful. Would it be possible to include a summary,
such as "9 of 9 builds succeeded" or something like that?

Thanks,

  --david

I ditched the time because it's usually the same anyway, and added a
summary like

2.6.14-rc2 : 2005-09-26 : [patch 3/3] [built 11/11] [boot 3/3]

where it's

[component succeeded/attempted]
