The patch titled
     r/o bind mounts: elevate write count during entire ncp_ioctl()
has been removed from the -mm tree.  Its filename was
     r-o-bind-mounts-elevate-write-count-during-entire-ncp_ioctl.patch

This patch was dropped because an updated version will be merged

Some ioctls need write access, but others don't.  Make a helper function to
decide when write access is needed, and take it.
