Interrupt-driven FIFO operation is implemented. The hardware also supports pure register-based operation (which is slower) and DMA-based FIFO operation. As the FIFOs are only 16 bytes long, DMA operation is probably not worth the hassle. Signed-off-by: Alexey Charkov <alchark@gmail.com> --- Thanks for the comments, Alan! Hopefully, I've fixed the issues in a right way. From: alchark@gmail.com (Alexey Charkov) To: linux-arm-kernel@lists.infradead.org Subject: [PATCH 2/6 v3] serial: Add support for UART on VIA VT8500 and compatibles Date: Mon, 8 Nov 2010 03:58:53 +0300 [thread overview] Message-ID: <20101108005853.GA21872@alchark-u3s.lan> (raw) In-Reply-To: <20101107230801.5214f353@linux.intel.com> This adds a driver for the serial ports found in VIA and WonderMedia Systems-on-Chip.
