Sure - any mdadm should work with any kernel.  Just try it...

Hi Neil,

Thanks for the reply re mdadm running on the 3.04 kernel.
I will try out your program now I know that it is compatible with this 
kernel.

For what its worth: The email address "linux-raid@vger.kernel.org" generated 
a Delivery Status Notification.
