Hi all,

I've got a DVB-S2 PCI-Express tv card ("Tevii S472", http://tevii.com/P
roducts_S472_1.asp) with Debian testing, but I'm not able to get it
work.
On TeVii's webpage there is a linux driver availible (http://tevii.com/
Support.asp), but if I try to compile the driver, it says that my
kernel version isn't supported (current debian testing installed).

The PCIe bridge is cx23885, the demodulator is m88ds3103 and I assume
that the RF Tuner is m88ts2022.

The kernel messages just say:
> $ dmesg | grep dvb
> $ dmesg | grep cx23885
> [    8.295142] cx23885[0]:    card=46 -> DVBSky T980C
> [    8.295143] cx23885[0]:    card=47 -> DVBSky S950C

The firmware (dvb-fe-ds3103.fw) was copied to /lib/firmware.

Hendrik

I had a similar problem a few months ago with a TeVii S660.
I am running (K)Ubuntu 15.10 (Wily Werewolf).
It didn't work correctly with the Ubuntu driver even after installing
the firmware.

Compiling the driver from TeVii's site also said my kernel was not
supported.
I guess it doesn't support 4.x kernels.

I wanted a quick solution to watch the Rugby World Cup while my wife was
watching another program.
As it worked on Windows I didn't try to fix it at the time but I could
have a go.

Cheers,
Chris

PS
I suppose I must have been running (K)Ubuntu 15.04 (Vivid Vervet) at the
time (in September).
It seems to have had only a 3.x kernel.
Sorry for the error.

Any news on this? YOu got it to work?

I have a very similar problem with a Tevii S470 [1](not) running on Ubuntu
15.10 with 4.2 or 4.3 kernels.

The DVB-S card worked without problem with ubuntu 14.04 but now it is not
even listed by lspci ...

Sorry for answering that late, I hadn't seen your answer.

I've tried several drivers and several distris, but either the
compilation fails because of the kernel version, or the kernel is
crashing when loading the driver, so I'm still not able to use my tv
card :(. Actually I'm using a 4.3er kernel with Debian unstable.

I'll write to TeVii again, maybe they'll offer me a solution.

I think I forgot writing the result of $ lspci, here is it:
$ lspci
...
03:00.0 Multimedia video controller: Conexant Systems, Inc. CX23885 PCI
Video and Audio Decoder (rev 04)
...

If anyone has an idea how to get it work, I'm still interested in a
solution.

Regards, Hendrik
