Hello everyone!

We are happy to announce that the upcoming release of Grub 2.04 is expected
in March. In order to prepare the release we would freeze on Monday, March
11, 23:59:59 UTC. From that point no new features are accepted unless there
is a very good reason to. We will still accept bugfixes. In fact we kindly
ask to test systems and features you care about

All the best from GRUB maintainers team

Those are fantastic news. I will hurry up then to post an updated
version of my sparc64 build fix so that it can land in version 2.04
such that GRUB will build fine on sparc64 targets without any additional
patches.

Really looking forward to this release!

Adrian

Just a kind reminder that freeze is in force now. Only fixes will be
accepted. All features will be reviewed if time allows but will be
committed after the release.

Daniel

I was wondering how far we have progressed now towards the new release?
Are there any pending fixes that need to go in before 2.04 can be tagged?

Once we know there is nothing more coming, I would be happy to perform
another build test on all supported targets. Actually installing GRUB
would be difficult as I don't have root permissions on all machines
for testing.
