I don't really get why this API extension is needed for your use-case.
Can't this just be done using iommu_map/unmap operations? Can you please
elaborate a bit why these functions are needed?

I don't really get why this API extension is needed for your use-case.
Can't this just be done using iommu_map/unmap operations? Can you please
