Hi,

I'm not subscribed to this list, so please consider that when replying.
I've tried Linux-2.6.1 on my Hardware running 2.4 without problems:

During boot I'm getting a "Unexpected busfree in Message-out phase" for my 
AHA2940 and my harddisk. I'm attaching "dmesg" output (19kB) and some PCI and 
SCSI information. I guess it's a programming error, maybe related to kernel 
preemption.

I would try any patches to have the problem fixed.
