* kernel 5.9.14 USB scanner detection fails

lsusb lists my scanner:
Bus 001 Device 002: ID 04a9:190f Canon, Inc. CanoScan LiDE 220


kernel 4.9.14:
sane-find-scanner   or scanimage -L  does not detect the scanner.
lsusb still shows the above line.

kernel 4.9.12:
with the same .config compiled worked as expected, scanner is detected
and works.

"4.9" or "5.9"?

And can you run 'git bisect' between the two kernel releases to find the
offending commit that causes the problem?
