Pardon me if a FAQ or OT...

Is there a limit as to how many simultaneous headsets can be streaming
audio?
Does anyone have suggestions about configurations, hardware, software to
stream to multiple headsets?
I'm looking to "broadcast" stream to about 35 headsets simultaneously.

Thanks,

jpf

JP

the a2dp spec has no provisions for broadcast and there are piconet size
limits to deal with anyway. You'd have to set up multiple bluetooth
adapters to really stack in the headsets but you'd never reach 35. You
may want to try a more traditional RF broadcast.

Brad --

That were my research was pointing me, but I was told that something had
been done in Amsterdam....but the details I have are about that vague. I
figured this list would have the definitive answers.

Am I correct that in some profiles (i.e. OPP, FTP, SPP) 1 BT device can
make upto 7 simultaneous connections?

thanks,

jpf

OPP etc are all point-to-point profiles. You may have heard that one
master device can have 7 slaves in its piconet.

brad --

last question....if I indeed wanted to install 35 transmitters and 35
headsets, as crazy as that may sound, must I then worry about RF
interference in the room?

you said "you'd never reach 35" and I'm not sure what my "limiting
factor would be"... is it RF interference?

in general, how many BT radios (frequency-wise) can exist in a single room?

thanks,

jpf

Hi JP,

I was able to stream A2DP to two headsets
simultaneously. So, in principle, you dont need 35
transmitters :). At lower a2dp bit rates the ratio may
increase, i did not test it though.

Thanks Sergey ---

What transmitter/headset brand/model did you use? Did you try streaming
to 3?

JP,

IBM T40 internal bluetooth vs HP stereo bluetooth
headset and Motorola HT820 headset. No, i did not try
with 3, i had just two headsets, but it should not be
difficult to try if you have them.
